So maybe it was a very, very big Chanukah present, but due to Don’s perserverance, we now have our very, very nifty 20 gal per hour watermaker working. We can have long hot showers, rinse our decks liberally, do a load of laundry daily if we wish, and most importantly, not worry about water quality as we did when we filled our tanks with marina water. Right now, we’re looking at 350 parts per million but hope that might improve with a few tweaks or a different harbour 😉 The undersink Seagull water filter may also help a tad, more likely if our tank water grows anything it shoudn’t. Again, lower on the priority list.
Power management wise, we must run the Onan/Cummins 4.5 kw generator to power the watermaker; rewiring so it can work engine driven is a much, much lower priority. But, with the watermaker running, we still can run one more big “resistive” load (pick one, only one: waterheater, toaster, laundry, tea kettle, microwave).
I can now go back to using cream rinse! So relieved; so excited.
Contrats gang!!!
